— Design: Used A LOT of opacity and transparency css styling on this one but it works with the character theme so I went with it. As always I really try to incorporate any character info/story I can learn. I just find that it makes for a better end result, plus it makes me feel more personally connected to the whole thing. It was interesting making the “hole in the wall,” as I have limited drawing skills. So to achieve a non weird black blobby scribbly thing is a cause for celebration. LOL Overall, super pleased with this one as I feel it really in bodies and enhances the awesome character work by Lucifer.

— Design: When I got the info that the character’s a gambler and I saw the art I knew I wanted to use playing cards in some way but it took me a couple goes at it to actually get it right. The table pulls down to reveal the game hands and then on hover “your” hand is revealed. Used gradients, patterns, and transparencies.

today i made jo a sparkly new profile, because his old one had so many little tiny issues that i couldn’t stand trying to repair my old CSS anymore. i think i actually like this one better, and i’m really happy with it! surprising, because i still really liked the look of the old one.

I’m pretty floored by this pet profile. I LOVE illustrated backgrounds and when I see examples like this it makes me hurt a little inside that I can’t draw worth a damn. BRAVO!

— Design: Commissioner wanted to use both pieces of art but wanted it to be a hover reveal. After fiddling around for what felt like four lifetimes I landed on this. I wasn’t given any text and I felt it needed some, so, I scrounged up, via google, a spell of some sort (hopefully I’m not starting a zombie apocalypse… hehe) - character’s a necromancer - and added that. Then I decided that there needed to be some kind of textual hint that there’s a hover without just throwing the word “hover” on the graphic, so putting the ole brain cells to work I came up with that text again trying to stay in the characters realm. Added the Calla Lily vector to again bring it back to the character and tie it all together. Used gradients, patterns, and transparencies.
